The problem with not having exclusive games, means that there is no point owning multiple machines, just get a PC and you can just play everything on that.
Why get a PS5 if all the games on it are same as a Switch? Why get an Xbox for sake reasons, or a Switch as well.
No exclusive means no reason to buy hardware, no exclusives would put both Nintendo and Sony out of business.

Exclusive games are what make companies compete and when companies compete it means better games and experiences + tempting pricing. This is all good for consumers
