My brother and I backpacked through the cascades in early May when all of the snow and ice was melting. We trekked with 60-70Ibs packs and were falling through snow pockets, getting completely soaked and had to keep stopping to warm up our feet by a quick fire. That's what your fall reminded me of lol but the Yukon looks beautiful and can't wait for my brother and I to finally make our way up there 😁

Fun looking trip!
As a rule, with river stones I never hop or take a step I have to fully or unknowingly commit to in order to make it. I have to be able to test the each step without committing so that I can always safely step back and try something else. Even seemingly dry-looking footing can hide some wet and slippery stuff.
Gotta temper your impatience with the idea of how miserable or even dangerous it could be if you trip up. Even if it's not horrid spill, the whole reason you're out there is to enjoy yourself, and wet, sticky and stinky clothes sure as heck ain't enjoyable x)

Dude! Great adventure and content!
I backpack bushwack with a DJI mini 2 drone that I can recharge on trail via USB-C power bank.
I power up the 40,000mah bank with an 18W solar panel while sleeping in and lunching.
It's a hefty 3.4 lbs extra, but that eye in the sky is such a game changer for unknown terrain!
My Mountain obsession is in Southern California. She's 17 miles and 5700ft of bushwacking, poison oak, biting flies, cats claw bushes, rattle snakes, bears, mission lions, and illegal pot farmers into the national forest. So I'm not too upset that this beautiful remote summit has defeated me three times! Tbh, I'm afraid my knees will blow out before I reach it, but that's the joy of this obsession, the feeling of defeat makes success so much sweeter!

Serious PTSD watching this, I commented on the water bottle hack video for reference. This looks almost exactly like what we hiked but there were a few more “marked” trails. It is beautiful but I will never go hiking again more than a few hours round trip. There’s more to the hike story than just what happened with my sisters water bottle as well. Didn’t realy like my class, didn’t realy like the teacher shaperonez, there ended up being a lot more snow than expected and about knee high for a while and for approximately 1/4 - 1/2 a kilometre up a mountain. We crossed at least 10 rivers/streams the first day and not all of them were that safe. Needles to say I havnt been hiking since.

Amazing! 😍 especially that you‘ve kept your motivation high despite of your little ice Bath
