As a 40 plus year veteran in the industry, learn at a young age to work light. By the time you get into your '50s and '60s, your body will be worn out from carrying all that weight. Whether it's your shoulders, your hips or other parts in between, it takes its toll. Most of what you have in that bag never needs to be used all at the same time. Get yourself a lightweight rig that just has a few things in it for what you're doing and leave that belt rig off to the side somewhere. If you're bending conduit all day, those bags will become very cumbersome. If you're working on a lift, take that rig with you but don't wear it, hang it somewhere close. I found a simple Carhartt canvas nail apron with four pouches can handle most everyday activities. I've had surgeries on both shoulders and two hip replacements from all the repetitive motion and additional weight. My lower back is also worn out. Just passing on some knowledge so your body can weather the storm!

How do you fit that around your Arc fault suit? Last Arc fault joke, BTW.

Belts are the way to go. I have tried not using mine. I feel like I'm running around more when I didn't have it on. I take tools out that I'm not using for whatever job it is.

I still have a great leather pouch that I got in 1992. I used it until 2005, then I started hiring young guys to carry tool pouches.

Carts are the way to go. Otherwise I have a gang box with wheels I’ll push that near where I’m working and then use a bucket to keep tools in

I’m tryin to carry a small tool bag with me more often instead of a belt. Tool belt is bad on my back although it’s super convenient

I've got bags that I've used for 42 years. But that because I don't clean up. Like you sparkies.

Of course an electricians bags are still good after 9 years. You could have used a plastic bag from the liquor store.
