As a senior citizen, I never been so afraid for the future of this country. I've been voting since 1972 and I was able to move on with other elections where my preferred candidate didn't win. This is different, because we have a clear danger to our democracy, rule of law, and national security heading back to the Oval Office. What is so bewildering is how so many Americans could be so completely conned by a guy who is clearly a sociopath. The cabinet grenades thrown this week are just an example. The intent was to cause chaos and watch with delight the ensuing mayhem. That's what sociopaths do.

As a former hotel desk clerk, I was musing about this today:
Many housekeeping staff are migrants. We had issues of management demanding that we check people in to rooms that were spot checked only when we were short-staffed. That means the bed was just made to look presentable; linens were nOt changed. Surfaces, same; nOt disinfected.
Let that sink in.

She's right. Literally just today I asked an acquaintance of mine who's a Trump supporter to tell me what a tariff was and he had no idea. I was prompted to ask him after he enthusiastically talked about how amazing they would be for the domestic economy. This is what populism gets you, smh.

Half of all construction workers and a large portion of farming staff could be deported. Plus their families. You think housing and food is expensive now? Wait till we are so under staffed in those industries that food is rotting in the fields and amhousing construction grinds to a near halt.
