Hey everyone, thanks for the input! One more bit of info - these are macrophylla- so can’t go near any black walnut trees (like at the lower patio), and will only grow to be 3-4’ tall and wide. Not tall enough to hide a view. Knowing that, keep the ideas flowing!!!!!!

I think I like option 2 better. In my mind, if you want to create a hidden garden feel, I like grouping them better. Having them as a repeating element feels more like a “see it all” plan. (I think? 😅)

I've always wanted a wall of hydrangea plants - a mass grouping like a long hedge - probably not what your plan is, but there you have it :-)

I like option one. I like repeating flowers in different beds more so than right in a row or drift. Plus when you walk down the grass path you will see the hydrangeas in more than one spot.

Hi there Jenny! I think option 2 would be better! What a blessing to have more garden space for plants and gorgeous stone walls!

I like Option #1, as you have them placed. Then they become your foundation plants & you expand from there.

Hi Jenny 🌺I like the option 1 because the hydrangeas will be big and you can see the beauty of every one . The hydrangeas we can plant them aline next to each other if there is awall , fence or aline in front of the high trees .Have awonderful day .🌻🌺

Option 1! Jack’s hydrangea train 🚂.

I like the 2 flanking the steps. The other 3 I’d use around the new patio. If you spread them out it dictates and limits what other plants you can use in those beds. Hydrangeas might look odd in a food scape. Maybe?
