As a young lady, I make it clear right off the bat that I’m waiting for marriage, so guys are usually a bit slower with me (which is wonderful), but if I don’t have the opportunity to set my boundaries first, sometimes guys will try to hold hands or put their arm around my shoulders too soon. I’ve learned the best response: saying “not yet” and undoing whatever they tried to do. I think it’s a kinda flirty “no” because it has the promise of a possible “yes” in the future.
