With that tiny speck of neurons, a fly can fly in 3 dimensions, seek food, avoid predators, eat, digest, find a mate, reproduce, land on the ceiling.... Ever try to catch a fly? They do a lot with 140,000 neurons.

Neurons, Glial cells & blood vessels. A truly remarkable piece of work.
Obviously, the human brain is quite a few orders of magnitude more complex than this fruit-fly brain but, by using such simple brains to develop the techniques for rapidly processing raw data into connectomes, it accelerates & streamlines the development timeframe (for scientists to easily create ultra-high resolution Human Connectomes from scans of living brains), while simultaneously informing us about the evolution of non-Chordate brains.
It's also pretty damn cool!
