“Europeans travel 7x more internationally than Americans” Yeah because our countries are the size of a state in America 💀
Edit: Yall have to understand that it doesnt matter if you travel by airplanes, trains, cars, or boat, you leave the country, meaning only because we have a better train system does not change the fact that we travel more internatipnally than americans.
Edit: since i started a fight, I wanted to make clear that 1. Europe isnt a country, 2. We can also fly up to 7h when flying from nicosia to Paris and then to Reykjavik, 3. Europe (continent, not union) is larger than the U

Cool info! I would say Europeans traveling internationally 7x than Americans could also be dramatically skewed based on country size. I bet a lot of Americans leave their state quite a few times per year (maybe not 7 bc vacation do be limited over here lol) and state sizes are generally more comparable to EU countries.

And this is why my partner, and I drive to Vancouver, BC YVR from Oregon for our Air New Zealand flight this summer. Saving hundreds of dollars, over flying out of Seattle or Portland. Additionally utilizing Nord VPN to find cheaper fares. Still saving, including gasoline and airport parking for three weeks at YVR.
Win win!
Dan, you’re the man, I have learned so much about travel from you.

Some of my colleagues who fly frequently business class from the US to Europe would book a one way flight from the US to Europe and then originate round trip flights from Europe to the US. It was cheaper to do that and pay the change fee for adjusting the date for the "return trip" to Europe than to pay for a business class ticket originating in the US.

Here's a crazy one for ya...
I live in Puerto Vallarta now and fly often back and forth to Alaska (home). My husband is working in California.
Recently, I booked a FC flight from PVR-ANC, but I also looked at booking pvr-lax, then a couple days later on to anc. The PVR-ANC option cost me under 2K RT, and the pvr-lax would've been 500. But, because it is high season, the round trip FC ticket LAX-ANC was 3000 bucks. So, it would've been over 4000 Dollars round trip PVR-LAX-ANC. Even domestic in-season flights are ridiculously expensive.

As a Canadian, I'm pretty shocked at how cheap US domestic flights can be - Canadian flights are just insanely expensive
