Python and Java also have this kind of "wrap your interpreter plus your code in an EXE" function, and they also yield large EXEs, but deno takes the ease of this to a whole new level, and makes it a first-class feature. Well Done!

ok it is an 85 meg "hello.exe", but i totally understand that you have to bundle a js engine, and this is still wonderful

i had error on my deno2 mac M1.
and seems the compiled binary much bigger than bun.
deno2 80+ Gb while bun is 60+Gb

I use this in one of my projects to supply a CLI that uses a compatible encryption method in Deno, as is natively used across all browsers. I would probably not be able to do that without Deno, unless I have to then maintain multiple encryption approaches.
