Doing our best to prepare for a rural move, bringing our kids & grandkids along to build a homestead for them and the generations to come. I'm not all THAT knowledgeable about self-sufficiency, but what I can, I will be sure to pass on.
A homestead takes a massive amount of work, I don't expect it to be fully developed in my lifetime. But we will start them off on a great footing.

🤣 this made me laugh so hard! I understand the sentiment and we all know Mike didn't mean any offense. BUT... Elderly does not mean unable nor should it imply automatic loss of physical strength or dexterity. That said, my children range in ages 27-35 and none are prepared for even a week while my hubby and I have worked with my older sister so the three of us have food for more than three YEARS (we own a freeze dryer), solar energy, rain catchment, water storage, a 30x50 ft garden, freedom seeds, wood stoves, extra properties, medicines, physical library of reference materials, and backups to our backups to our backups. We have PACE plans. We have ties to our separate communities. We have alternative modes of transportation. We have barterable assets as well as cash and silver stashed here and there. We have everything we can think of today and will get everything we think about tomorrow. So... These young chickens better step up their game if they think to compete with us old folks

Prescription meds can be a concern as you get older. I think China is a top producer of medicines. If there was a war or additional issues with the supply chain it would be nice to have a long term supply instead of only 90 days worth of meds. I've heard people say just get off those meds, but for some that's not possible. Thank you for your videos and your words of encouragement. God Bless...
