There's a version of this called Do As I Do which doesn't involve a marked deck, you can do it with a freshly opened / borrowed deck with basically no set up. All you have to do is take note of the bottom card of the deck and turn it over, and the only other sleight involved is turning half a deck over in your hands during a moment of midirection. I won't reveal the full method here but it's easy to find if you're curious.
