I see why Dooku eventually left The Order. The order obviously valued the opinion of the "senate" over the lives of their own members.

Perhaps the councilâs greatest mistake in a way
Obviously thereâs no doubt Mace was a terrific Jedi master but a leader? Not even close. He didnât even have a padawan if I recall.
By the time we got to Anakin the council and more particularly Mace of all people led the charge against him and were absolutely horrible to him. He also led the charge against Ashoka and kept Obi Wanâs âdeathâ from Anakin.
Granted Mace was right about Anakin but itâs a catch 22. If he wouldâve been nicer and more of a mentor to Anakin than perhaps he couldâve helped him balance the dark side.

So, the guy that felt like that was wrong and wanted to investigate and then find the murderers, but didn't get promotion but lost it to a guy who really didn't want to look into anything, and aren't there like 10,000~ people in the jedi order and this was jedi master why would you not look into it.
