Two edge grain cutting boards.
The first one is made out of American walnut, wengé, and maple. It took a while to find a perfect balance between the black wengé, the white maple, and the beautiful warm brown walnut. I played around with tons of different patterns to finally come to this final one. For me, the pattern is striking yet calming. It is both present and subtle, enhancing the cutting board's style.
The second one is made out of beech and white oak, which both have, in their own way, a stunning grain pattern. Beautiful quarter-sawn oak reveals the tiger-eye grain, and the beech has a subtle waviness. I knew from the start that I wanted a symmetric pattern for the light one. The focus should be on the wood grain, not the ordering of the strips.
