I have almost run out of those kinds of people in my life. Nowadays, I have to rely on myself for those things. In the past, I’m the one that reaches out and help people out. But when I need help myself, I’m the one that gets left behind because I’m too different. I guess you don’t always reap what you sow. Hard lesson learned.

The type of person she is referring to is not a personality type but a mile marker on your road to personal success. ( which is very different to societal success and cannot be achieved until you are willing to cut away that self serving part of your conditioning) for context, I believe those who have done so, look back and trace this beginning to their teenage years where they formulated this idea (mostly cultivated in public or Ivy league schools) but find that they never reconsidered this blueprint later once they had fully developed into adulthood. I am personally guilty of this but found that letting go of my shallow not fully realized dreams, hard as it may have been, opened me up to an immense nee realm of possibilities.
I now understand how important it is to follow the path in this way because had I had it my way from the beginning, my heart would have never been capable of understanding the truth. There is just way too much we are being lied to about.
Trust in your insincts.

There are little things we do that influence how others feel about us when they’re in our presence.
In 2010, two organizational behavior scientists, Eisenkraft & Elfenbein, designed a study to investigate whether people have a predictable influence on other people's moods.
And what they found is that people can consistently influence the way others feel.
Without trying or even being aware of it, each of us gives out a ‘vibe’ - (called your ‘trait affective presence’) - and it affects everyone you come into contact with in the same way.
This is really important for you to be aware of when it comes to fostering relationships and your ability to engage and connect.
Because, people make a judgement about you based on how they FEEL in your presence.
Earlier, other researchers Cross, Baker & Parker (2003) researched the behaviors that give someone an energizing trait affective presence, and identified a number of consistent qualities about what this looks like at work.
It’s not just about being positive or optimistic, but includes being reliable, being open to others’ perspectives, and being present with others.
Which of the qualities seems to come to you most naturally?
