It's all about shot placement and the bullet that is being used. Europeans have been using the 6.5 Swede for years to hunt moose.

I have a ww2 parts sporter 7x57 mauser my grandad put together. Legend for taking big game in Africa. I have a browning 6.5CM xbolt safari, god awful beautiful gun I only put probably 15 rnds through. Both will do the job if you can

I see another parallel in the bowhunting industry as well. The industry tries to meld the TARGET side with the HUNTING side of things simply because the hunting side of things are of a larger group, if they can tap into that as far as sales goes they make bank.
6.5 creedmore is an excellent long range target precision round. But also a competent HUNTING round within its effective KILLING and not its TARGET range.
The sad part is that for the sake of sales it leads newbies or otherwise new to HUNTING folks that they can take game at target ranges. Which is bad for hunting communities. But great for peaking interest in long range target shooting. With many of the distinct hunting/ target lines becoming blurred which is bad for the hunting side.
Know its KILLING limits and its a wonderful caliber but so are so many other calibers out there.
