as a han chinese person from china, i really feel that same sentiment. plenty of criticism of the regime exists in the west, a large chunk of it hypocritical & often racist. but … just because racist americans hate china for its atrocities, it doesn't mean that the government isn't committing those atrocities.
i basically need to be skeptical of anyone who levies these accusations of atrocities, as well as anyone who defends the chinese government against them. until i know more about their entire worldview, i don't really know how much of their beliefs consist of either propaganda or counter propaganda, and how much genuinely derives from their own analysis of actual material conditions.
