When road users are arriving at the same point at the same time, something needs to give and it's generally speed.

When I used to sell industrial machines I traveled all across the country, at least 130 miles round trip and that was just to my office, usually 300-500 a day. All this driving made me such a better driver, this is literally the kind of thing I look for, usually people are appreciative so you even feel rewarded as well as a grown adult member of society,

Obviously the only real answer would be to pace his speed at his side while holding onto the horn with one hand, shouting you're on camera whilst pointing to it with the other.

I can see no other option...

That is a brilliant example of how to guide drivers to make the right decision. I do it time and time again but recently, when I gave the driver joining the carriageway the time and space he needed, the driver behind me didn't get the message. He decided to undertake me on the left just as the driver joining the carriageway crossed into the left hand lane and if I and the other driver were not alert the result could have been a very nasty accident. Keep posting.

Always looking out for this. It astounds me how few people actually do.

Thats why i get angry at videos of bad driving most times its the person with dash cam fault because they speed up to cause the problem. Alot of drivers have no awareness whats really going on around them. Well done

That was perfect care and consideration of others. Great example of how to do it properly. 👌

It helps if people joining the carriageway are up to speed and realise they must give way if they can't match speed of oncoming traffic. So many people thing an indicator is a "right of way a cator".

I wish everyone thought like this. i face this every day driving a coach. people obliviously driving themselves into situations that could be so easily avoided.

I do this myself regularly...but often wonder why I bother to go out of my way to make life easier for others when some doink in a Lorry or Audi emerging from the filter lane just sweeps across 3 lanes right in front of me without even looking.....

The driver entering the motorway has to give way, even if it means coming to a stop. Unfortunately in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland motorway sliproads do not feature a "Give Way" or "Yield" sign despite the obligation to do so. GIVE WAY signs are the norm when entering duel carriageway and motorway in continental Europe.

Anticipating what others are about to do before they even know themselves is gold tier driving in my eyes. I did annoy me before on the ignorance that drivers wouldn't acknowledged that you've just helped them but then i learned it doesn't matter. Not all heroes need a podium.

The Police teach a system called Road Craft, the skill you perfectly demonstrated is called acceleration sense. Very few people do it but it's a good habit to get into. If you've not read it, you'd appreciate the road craft manual, some really good techniques in it. Your account is one of the best I've seen.

As a bus driver ever slip road is terrifying because people just dont know how to use them. Ill use literally all slip road available becauase the bus is slow af. Im not pulling out if you flash me because you slowing and braking to allow me to could cause a rear end smash into said car. Ive always picked my gap within the flow as ive been looking over my shoulder all the way along the slip road and seeing where I can go safely . This type of driving is great to see fair play my man! Dvsa and dvla need to get together to educate car drivers in the Uk

I always try to be courteous on the roads. I'm also a calm driver and rarely get frustrated by others mistakes/carelessness

One of the beautiful things about UK roads is, this is possible and that, there are people out there who share the road safely and maintains the flow. I do this wherever possible and also enjoy receiving a thank you hand wave.

Read the road ahead, my mum was teaching me that when I was a kid in the car as a passenger. My mum has never had an accident in 40 years driving. Have never forgot that piece of advice and live by it while driving. Don’t drive agitated or without patience. Forgive other driver mistake, cause you’ll make them too occasionally and understand we all share the roads. Driving is never stressful for me 😂

Definitely, I never overtake beside a slip road, but moving out blocks the second lane and creates a space the Volvo could move into and grow the space.
