True alot of us grew up seeing dysfunction as the norm. So functional situations seem challenging or unappealing. Also for women there is the illusion of control and drama when dealing with weak men.

"He's so responsible." Said in that way where you drag out the last syllable.
"He's so responsibllllllllle." Where you know they are verbalizing as a compliment but are meaning it as not a compliment.
That broken man isn't always broken. And I would really say that he hardly is "broken" but is the dude who Don't Give A Fuk that they get intrigue by because he doesn't.
He doesn't care about getting a place to stay of his own, or doesn't care about who he asks to borrow money from because he can always try getting it from a female.
Though the terms may change or the description may differ, that "broken man" that you say women choose to feel useful, is the scammer that women in street interviews say they prefer over 9 to 5 men, that you said in another interview (or maybe another section of this full interview that this is from) people get a skewed impression because those kinds of women are the most likely to participate in street interviews.
The only difference is the scammers that the street girls want is running a scam on a larger scale. While the "broken men" that women want is scamming on an individual by individual level.

Good narrative. I think another angle is;some women shy away from genuinely good men, because they will be held accountable to good men standard. It’s work. And can be gut wrenching to look in the mirror to face the flaws they already knew they have. Good me. Do this at a regular cadence.

I think its more so about the accountability and ego. It's typically hard to downplay a good men if the relationship ends because it becomes more questionable on her side rather the man's side. But on the flip side, its an unquestionable situation when its a low quality man.
