The Icy River,look how it flows
By shorelines filled, with winter’s snows
Sloshing, churning, amidst blocks of ice
Through frozen fields, it does slice
By a cabin nestled, among icebound trees
As temps do plummet, to 10 degrees
The frozen fog, and hissing breeze
It’s oh so cold, it’s all one sees
Limbs and branches, begin to break
Can’t bear the weight, make no mistake
The warmth of sun, is still months away
While in the meantime, under skies of gray
The forest waits, in frozen sleep
For winter's grip to slowly creep
A symbol of life, in icy chains
Waiting for spring's sweet, and warming rains
All who come here, stand and shiver
As they stare at sight, of The Icy River
