Where I live chinos work year round because the winters arenât that cold. Hardly ever get any use out of my overcoat here as itâs only really needed for the coldest of mornings on the rare occasion thereâs a frost

Ok, so, I agree with you, but where does one find what youâre describing as âwinter pants,â especially when one normally wears Dockers chinos or the like for daily work? Dockers, for instance, are available year round,because theyâre just kind of âyear round.â I mean, one could go to Brooks Brothers and buy dressy wool pants, but the dressy ones are usually thin. Department stores, at least like Kohlâs or Macyâs, may have pants in some cases that are a slightly heavier weight, but itâs all pretty much the same all year round, at least in my experience.

You should learned more about fabrics, chinos and denim have lighter and heavier both of them, and although denim look more rugged but it's more breathable then chinos, you might call yourself expert in style but fabrics mostly off....
