According to this deal, an Indian company was supposed to supply 400 military drones to the army.
But the deal was cancelled because this company was using Chinese parts in its drones, which is not allowed.
Now this is not one of the events, many a time, there are reports of military drones malfunctioning or being hacked, and according to officials, these happen because of Chinese parts in them.
This is a very serious national security matter, and so the question is why can’t we use parts which are ‘Made in India’?
Well, because Chinese options are of ‘higher quality’ and way cheaper than the ones made in India.
For eg, a drone engine made in China is 80% cheaper compared to other international options, which is crazy.
And as a result, Indian companies really have no option.
They either get it directly from China or reroute it from some other country.
But the question I have is, even after 10 years of ‘Make in India’ and 5 years of PLI scheme, why can’t Indian products stand anywhere close to the Chinese?

Remove caste based reservation system and provide talent based platform to compete with others. No meaning in giving free education, health, jobs, hostels etc in the name of caste to someone who is already having own house, vehicles, property etc. Use that money for providing better education for talent based, lessen the tax on industry, give incentives to innovative start ups etc.

I think it's more about the funding these projects. Most developed countries even china funds these kinds of projects. I have never heard of India doing it. Infact we have way Smarter people than anywhere in the world. For eg, just look at ISRO, with so much of money taken away from them, they still are the cheapest and functioning sector in Space. The gov of India should look into this and trust it's people, instead of spending thousands of crore on statuses and unnecessary development, which in turn they spend more.
