At the end of the day it's who can produce the most compelling narrative overall and everything they're talking about is just parts of that.
Kendrick didn't just release a five minute audio of him screaming that Drake was a pdf like making the worst accusation is an auto-win button, he had a catchy DJ Mustard beat with punchy quotables (A MINORRR) and a whole set of bars laying out the case that Drake was a culture vulture.
Were any classic diss tracks really any different when you break them down, besides more gay jokes and F slurs?

People did talk about the bars, itâs just that damn near everyone knew Kendrick would win on that point. Not like us was the final nail on the coffin because Kendrick actually managed to make a club banger, something everyone thought only Drake could pull off. People definitely care about the gossip, but letâs be real, most people are just dancing to the song and screaming âA-Minorrrâ cause itâs fun.
Also, When Oldheads talk about rap beefs âback in the dayâ I think about disses taking 3 months to drop, and 2Pac getting shot, like your time was not better, stop acting like it.
Like I donât even think this guy was even paying attention to what was happening or listened to the other songs. Trying to bring up âyeah you and your team won the battleâ like were you not there when Kendrick said he was writing the bars and Drake had 20 ghostwriters?

Feels like a rewriting of history to say Pusha T won because of the blackface picture. More to do with exposing that he had a child with someone he was embarrassed of and would only acknowledge the kid if he could do an Adidas deal with him. On top of that there were some pretty crazy bars talking about Drakeâs parents and dying friend.
