Don't tell the French, but the "American Sandwich" is actually Belgian. We call it "un routier", which mean "a trucker" because it's very nourishing and can be eaten on the road in your car.
We also call it "une mitraillette", which literally means "submachine gun" because of all the fries.

Actually the ‘American Fried Rice’ is Filipino and it was introduced to the Philippines during the Second World War as the Americans were stationed there, it was created as a fusion food between traditional food such as rice and egg but with American things added like hotdogs, chicken wings etc. it is known to them as American Fried rice and has spread throughout much of Southeast Asia, it was called this because the Americans helped create it. I’m Thai and I have this a lot, though with some minor changes - it’s very nice!

When I think of classic American food, I think of BBQ and cultural blend foods like mexicali or tex Mexican cuisine along with more East Coast cultural blends like pizza. But then you also have things like chowder, or Chinese American faves like chop suey and orange chicken. Even things like california rolls, there are just so many delicious foods here that are all thanks to the diverse group of folks that live here
