First guess... It looks like the perfect size to fit in the passenger front foot space to hold packages, supplies, etc. Would also fit nicely in the trunk for same use.
2nd... its to go on a shelf to specifically hold rare spare parts that you will find and collect from time to time.
C... you can't reach the center of the roof to wash and wax. π
