It was stupid as made simply because R1 Vader is way more agressive than ANH Vader. What it highlighted was the difference made possible by the tech we have now that they didn't in the 70s.

Without that scene, Rogue One would have been the first of Disney's failures with the franchise. Instead, Rogue One is arguably the best Star Wars movie.

And it shouldn't have been included. At no time in the original trilogy do we see him move and fight like that. It makes no sense whatsoever.

This was the highlight of the movie. The single most iconic moment of the entire film. Arguably the most badass live action Vader scene ever.
