Probably should have the option off there just in case if you’re trying to get away from someone that’s trying to harm you. If you can’t remember to turn your headlight on you shouldn’t be driving.

I drive for a living and I see Civics and CRV's with their HIGH BEAMS on quite often. The no headlights thing is almost always a Nissan🙄

I have a 2022 civic and I do not like this feature. I’ve went to someone’s house that has a wife to fool around with them and could not sneak into the driveway with my head lights off. Ugh

Honda took a paragraph out of GM’s book for this feature. 2003+ full size trucks and SUV have this feature, but you can still turn off the auto lights while driving. They will stay off until you cycle the headlamp switch or cycle the ignition. They won’t stay turned off.

Why have a switch to turn off? Why not just tie to the photo sensor, so headlight is always on at night, and off during the day?

Cars used to do this back in the day as an elderly option 🤣 my grandmother had a 2001 Camry & her headlights were always on whenever the car was on

Every time I see a feature come to the US market I just wonder, how long ago did the rest of the world have this. We just approved multi LED beams (imagine 100 small LEDs instead of a few big ones) which can block out brights for oncoming traffic, sign reflections, cars in front, rain glare, etc. EU had these 5 years ago.
