They have magnetic shoes so when they are walking on metal roofs and cladding they have extra protection and are slightly attached so it is less likely for them to fall off so metal screws and bolts would also stick to the magnetic plating inside the shoe.

Definitely is real I used to have a pair of those when I did metal roofs. They are extremely nice to have especially when you are doing a 12/12 pitch. You can do it without them but your chances of slipping are greatly increased
