Iām pretty confident them being described as looking more human in the Forerunner Trilogy is implying that theyāre related to us, like how humans and Forerunners have a common ancestor in the new canon. Iām sure you could throw in the Yonhet somewhere down the line as an explanation for why they look so out of place in Halo, and arenāt nearly as alien as they should be (conceptually speaking theyāre really interesting, but their visual design has a lot to be desired. If they had a drastic redesign Iād be all for them coming back in more stuff).

Yeah the ones who stayed on their home world, aka the stoics, are still out there and are probably still tall and gorgeous. This is exactly the direction I fear humans will go if we keep being lazy
