Good idea for keeping people in, bad idea because it allows people to become lazy and less pressured on staying fit. It's just a way of keeping people in the military because they can't fill the positions on ships through recruiting. Fewer and fewer people are enlisting each year, with last year missing their recruitment quota by 7,000. People are realizing that the military isn't the only option out there, just like college isn't the answer to everything.

The navy runs on the pendulum principle. Years ago they’d discharge iron man competitors if they had a small necks. After decades of poor manpower decisions it has now become what we have today. Inconsistency breeds contempt

If this decision is being made based on a set of uniform criteria, AND the person impacted is aware of and informed prior to, then I think it’s okay… if the decision is being made by a bunch of “good ole boys” or top non-commissioned brass, then no… not in favor..
