Thanks for saying to have realistic expectations. Owners who just think their dog will naturally fit into their lives with no training are the worst

I can't get enough of your videos. They have taught both my puppy and me so much. Sadly, I've never been able to get my pup to take to the crate. He's a rescue and was bought over from Cyprus, which meant a lot of travel and time in crates. I think it had a negative impact on him as he's terrified of a crate now 😢

Your teachings have made my two gigantic pups sooo well behaved inside my house! They’re currently 8 months old. They’re threshold trained, feed trained, leash trained and they actually love their crates. Recall is amazing and they already know loads of commands. They no longer need their in house leads (good for when she had her spay, and they had to be kept apart during her healing). They only have to go in their kennels when I’m busy doing my daily workouts. They don’t go on the furniture. They have their chew on dog things they know they’re allowed to chew. They get along great and they even engage in turn taking. They are just getting better and better every day! Our girl is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/ Great Pyrenees cross, our boy is Rhodesian Ridgeback/ lab cross. She looks like a punk rocker with a wild mohawk and he looks more like a classic Rhodesian Ridgeback. They’re brother and sister. They’re both such amazing dogs. Thank you sooo much for sharing all your amazing wisdom!

I have found that verbal teaching of a puppy actually works. For example, I make A lot of my dogs and puppies toys. One of the things is a sock toy, made by sewing the sock toes together and knotting this in several places. Sometimes I add squeakers in between the knots. I wear socks often and at first my newest puppy decided to enjoy mine instead of hers. I picked up her "sockies" and told her, "Kai's sockies." Then I picked up mine and said, "Mommy's sockies". I did this a few times, taking away my socks and replacing with hers. When I bought her a little collar for around the house with a name tag, I showed her my necklace telling her again that it was Mommy's and putting hers on while repeating her name and showing my necklace. She accepted the scary item with a tail wag letting me know she understood. I do this with everything she gets into and showing her that not everything is hers. It's important to be consistent and not be slack or ignore wrong behavior. Thank you for all these wonderful lessons. They work!

Do not chew spray on high value targets (shoes ect), put everything that you can out of reach¹ and provide a bunch of chewing items from livestock ears to horns and hooves. ¹adopted a ten month old severe chewer and was up to 3am that night putting my stuff on top of furniture to protect it. Forgot to do my shorts and next morning i grabbed them and was sitting on the stone steps outside and realised my posterior was much colder than it should be......

People who automatically dismiss using a crate are huge red flags.

My puppy, who's now an adult, has only every destroyed one thing and in her defense it was a recipe folder that no doubt got splashed with food at some point.

How about when they destroy everyting in the crate? Our Lab doesnt destroy the house at all but will shred anything in the crate. So he's currently having a bit of a miserable time with out any bedding.
