Everyone that keeps saying that King Kong was trapped on skull island that isn't really correct. Skull Island is King Kongs territory, even so it could be said. It's his kingdom. When the alpha call sounded, the monster of Skull Island tried to leave king kong fought them to keep them from leaving. If King Kong wanted to, he could leave Skull Island, but he doesn't see the need because he chooses to protect the island and the people who live there. The only way for him to leave is if Skull Island was in any danger from possible future threats.
