Everyone who wants to start a business must evaluate this one category, which is giving the highest growth in India...

A number of countries want to reduce sourcing dependency on China to a (friendlier and more transparent) nation, and the largest of them is the US...

I was looking at data, and exports of one category from India have skyrocketed this year.

In the month of April alone, Electronic Goods exports have increased by over 25%... to a total export value of USD 2.6 Bn in one month!

This is when merchandise exports from India has grown by ~7%... so almost a 3.5X the overall rate of growth in merchandise exports.

And as much as I can see in the business ecosystem... Electronic goods such as TVs, ACs, Hearing Aids, Transistors, Sensors and Computer devices for cars...

A huge number of parts are being imported from China, and assembled in India quickly to obtain a certificate of origin of India.

Now even if importing from China and assembling in India means that your price to the end customer would be 15-20% higher... a large number of importers in the US are okay paying a higher price as long as they don’t have to fully depend on China.

It’s just their mental comfort that at least 10% of their sourcing can be shifted to an Indian vendor.

And 10% is, mind you, a lot in absolute value terms... the numbers for April speak for themselves.

And as people build their customer base, and assembly sheds in India... gradually, they should be able to move to building manufacturing capabilities in India too.

I’d say look at items like electronic bikes, jacuzzi mats for bath tubs, digital locks, electric heated blankets, smart suitcases... all consumer products with electronic parts that connect to Bluetooth and wifi.
