Transmedicalists/ Truscum rhetoric is incredibly harmful to the trans community. One doesn’t need to have dysphoria nor transition in order to be trans. Lets not gatekeep or police identities.

I watched as the transmedical thing started on tumblr back in 2011. Nobody thought you had to transition. The belief was that you just needed to have dysphoria to be trans. Maybe the discourse is too different now. I don't necessarily agree with the "born in the wrong body" narrative either. But I can say personally that's how it's felt for me.

Not to mention that not everyone is necessarily able to do all the "upkeep" with things like bottom surgery since it's not just one and done, it requires a long term commitment to the recovery process and life time commitment to routinely doing required things to avoid complications so there is alot of pros and cons to surgeries. Myself I would do some facial surgery for sure if I had the money, but I am not sure I want to do bottom surgery or implants or things of that nature that have alot more potential complications. In a perfect world it would be a simple transplant or conversion process to be full working correct body parts for each person's ideal body setup as they desire it that is either very affordable or even outright covered by insurance or government but we ain't there yet so we can't set that as a standard. Agree with your opinion completely.

As someone finally able to make real strides in getting my presentation as I wish, it is so refreshing to see a trans content creator not pushing bottom surgery

How are the ideals based in transphobia though? What is the point in transitioning if you don't have dysphoria? Transmeds have never been against people who do not have access to medical transition. It's about whether you WANT to transition and will make an effort to. I personally wouldn't get bottom surgery because the price and recovery times and results are not ideal. That doesn't mean that in a perfect world I wouldn't get it though. I would love to have a penis. As of right now I use prosthetics instead.

I have a question and I'm still learning but I guess one part kinda confuses me. If you don't want to physically transition and you don't have any gender dysphoria, what's the difference between a trans person and a cis person? I know this is a touchy subject and an reply would be awesome πŸ’œ
