I was looking at the data from a recent survey that showed us how everyone seems to think that the best everything was at a time when they were between 10 to 20 years old, most specifically for fashion, when they were 14.5...

The Best Music
The Best Fashion
The Best Movies
The Best Sporting Event
The Most Moral Society
The Most Well Knit Communities

All average at 14.5...

And the best companies are using this in a technique called Nostalgia Hacking.

For example, one of the most viral tech products selling online this year is this silly Gaming Console, which gives you all the games from the retro years to you in less than Rs 5k or barely $60

If I look back further to when I was 14.5... man, baggy jeans were al the rage in school back then... and baggy pants are a rage again.

Now this may also be because fashion is cyclical... but data tells you much more about humans than humans know themselves.

If you’re building a consumer product... look at the Ideal Customer Persona (ICP) that you’re catering to... and think back to see what was trending when they were 14.5...
