Good theory. In addition to this, a new antenna may have a different radiation pattern than a previous antenna with lobes going off in direction of the new DX?

This is why I like the wsprlite and dxplorer. You can do real world tests that remove any confirmation bias. It would be nice if dxplorer could also do the same analysis for receive performance but then you'd also need two identical receivers piping the results in but with how cheap some SDRs are getting these days that should be doable
