I’m pretty sure that’s not the route they would take. And it would only be that route if you were flying a smaller airliner that has to refuel. Flying in a straight line or a relatively straight flight path is more fuel efficient = saves money and gets you there quicker. Any others explanation would mean some airspace has been shut down for whatever reason E.G. hijacking or emergency or even terrorism. It could also be a military training exercise or restricted airspace. But to my knowledge there is none of the later 2 in that general flight path. (Weather also included before you have a go at me).
