Hey! Young reptile keeper here! ( younger then 18) I’ve done my research and before anybody says, “ Oh, it probably only takes a day to do research. “ it almost took me a whole month to finish researching about my reptile before getting it. I also worked hard to get the money for him and it takes hard work! I have a Crested Gecko, ( age? ) His name is Vox and I give him varieties of diff foods and also his little protein powder syrup thing? Also the only time that I have someone else do something for my pet is only when I’m at school I have my mom mist him every so often which I’m thankful of! I feed him every day if he feels like it. And he gets lots of love! Anyways thanks for reading!

Agreed. When my parents got me my first reptile they never thought they’d need a vet. Which is stupid.

I'm 12 and I keep Australian whites, giant crimsons, mantis, anoles, toads, a fence lizard, vinegaroon and a bunch of isopods, I've had one vet visit, my fence lizard had been getting seizures which has stopped happening, my dad is an expert with reptiles and amphibians care, my toad stopped eating and my dad helped, we force fed him and I guess he realized how good food taste and started eating again afterwards😂

Only give one/buy one if you know how to take care of it. As a reptile keeper with a tortoise, 2 lizards, and a gecko they are high maintenance. So do your research before getting one.

My son really wanted a WTF and so I researched it and as a mom I would never get my son anything I wouldn't be 💯 prepared to take full responsibility for... But I became as obsessed as him. So it's a win win.

My bf had to take his snake to the vet. I think she had a Respiratory disease? It’s been awhile i cant quite remember. But he had to give her shots underneath her scales near her face. Not fun. I believe he had her for 9 years now?

If a thing is classified as living, don't give it as a gift. This includes plants. Anything that can be dependent on you to survive should not be something Aunt Linda gets you because she forgot your birthday and heard you say that thing was neat.
