1月29日は、徳島市の金刀比羅神社で「包丁式」が行なわれる日です。
料理の際に欠かせない道具である「包丁」という言葉には、料理とは関係なさそうな漢字が使われていますが、実は深い由来があります。
かつて「包丁」は、「广 」（まだれ）がある「庖丁」という漢字で書かれていました。
「庖」（くりや）という字は、中国語で「料理」や「料理をする人」を意味し、料理に関連する文字です
