I remember reading a statistics saying there are only four countries(U.S, germany,Austria and norway) where tampon are used more than pads, and in Asia 2/3 woman use pads and tampons are used by less than 10% of womans.

Asian here🤚🏻(from middle east) the reason we use pads over tampons is because it's tabo and only married woman can use because our society believes that if you use tampons you're not a virgin anymore and the reason they wrap it in black plastic bag or anything else is not because of your privacy it's because periods are taboo and is embarrassing and shameful for a woman to show that or say that she's period and is seen as something you should be ashamed of mentioning and all of this is due to misogynistic society and not "comfort" of woman (I'm talking about my own country but it is mostly the same case in otger countries too

Tampons are not popular in Argentina too. In a supermarket or pharmacy you can find some variety of tampons but most women prefer pads.

Whatever makes you feel best and most comfortable. There is no right or wrong choice on this one. The world will just have to figure out how to deal with it environmentally because women go through enough discomfort already. The important thing is that we don't shame one another for our choices, whether made for cultural, physical or environmental reasons.

Here in Brazil tampons are also quite uncommon. Most people only use them for going to the pool/beach. I think menstrual cups are more popular than tampons here. It took me a long time to learn that "tampons" wasn't the English word for pads. 😅

Some stores in person and online stores have another line of tampons called エルディ that don’t have the casing! I prefer them because it’s less expensive and less plastic used
