It’s called Sciatic Nerve Entrapment, or also known as Deep Gluteal Syndrome.
📚 It is a well-researched and well-documented problem, where the nerve becomes entrapped by fibrous tissue as it passes through the deep glute muscles.
This is a fairly common problem and can be one of the underlying reasons why cases chronic lower back and hip pain have stayed chronic for so long.
In our office we typically treat this via manual hands-on techniques, or radial pressure wave (radial shockwave therapy).

Try first but most likely it's a herniated disc. If you can't get control of pain with PT the next option is finding an amazing surgeon that does primarily healthcare workers/cops/EMT/firefighters. That is the best Dr to find. My surgery went amazing. It can take 6months-1yr. I'm so much stronger now with the PT.
