Made with kanki (broken) rice, this khichu is so yummy. It is spicy, and salty, and has a tinge of a soda-like taste that will open all your taste buds. I call it a "fasting" or "paarna" food as it is heavy on the tummy and also a "hospital" food as it opens the taste buds if you are sick! It tastes super yummy if eaten hot with ghee!
1. 1 cup Rice, cooked
2. 2-3 cups of water
3. 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
4. 2-3 Green chillies
5. 7-8 Curry Leaves
6. Salt to taste
7. 1 tsp Papad no Khar/Saaji Khar
8. 1 tbsp Ghee
9. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
10. 1/4 tsp Hing
Tips
1. If you do not have papad khar, substitute it with normal cooking soda.
2. You can follow the same procedure and ingredients to make khichiya papad with this khichu.
