Hope is not a strategy but it definitely is a necessity.

"Man's Search for Meaning" is one of the best books I've encountered, the maxims and platitudes we hear from it only scratch the surface.

Mans Search for Meaning is the most important book I ever read. I am a Nurse and worked in a life and death- with high risk, short staffed . His writing always kept me going❤

I've read a bunch of books people say will change your life and all that. Mans search for meaning is the only one that truly changed me. I read it during one of my deepest depressions and I'm not saying it cured me, but it sure as hell has helped me over the past years since then

This was required reading for our Psych 101 course. We also attended one of his lectures. Incredible man. His book is definitely worth reading.

This mindset my mother drilled into us from a young age. Has helped us so much when life has taken a down turn

Human beings need hope. Ultimately without hope theres no point to life. Just having a pet, dog or cat say, gives meaning to life because when totally alone theres nothing.

He didn’t go to Auschwitz, in the book he recalls how quiet the train carts were when they were coming up to Auschwitz and how grateful they were they passed it, they passed through Dachau as well, again everyone had that expulsion of breath that exuded gratefulness, they knew going to those places were certified death sentences, haven’t touched that book since 16’ still my favorite book, thank you Mr.Frankl for never giving up, may you rest in everlasting paradise with your friends and family it is much deserved.

The audiobook of this is free on Audible. A TON of life lessons through this, though so incredibly brutal.

Those most malnutrished might have been the ones who lost will to live faster. It might be that lack of will to live is mainly a symptom, not a cause.

Yet many people who have been held captive for long periods of time say that having no hope got them through their ordeal. Just surviving from day to day without thinking about the future. The ones who hoped to much were dissapointed and gave up.
