As lay here at 1:30am wide awake on this full moon lunar eclipses I remember how lucky I am.
Yea I could be frustrated that I'm not sleeping.
I have a full day tomorrow, and a day that's going to take mental and physical acutness as I finish training for a new exciting job, and also have a practice to become a mat pilaties teacher in the morning.
But as I lay here I am so incredibly thankful that I am where I am today.
3 years ago I was not sleeping through the night. Every single night. This was when I moved to Tahoe to become a white water raft guide.
My nervous system was going haywire in the new experience and in the months leading up to moving and the first month there I legit was sleeping 2hrs a night and just laying there wide awake for 5hrs.
5-6 yrs ago I was in excruciating pain every night barely sleeping and not know if, and when it would end.
My sleep varies with what is going on in my life, I've always been this way since high school.
But now I can go months and months sleeping super solid and easily get myself back on track.
The past 6 months I have slept through the night solid every night.
Powerful moons can disrupt our sleep cycle with brighter sky's and the gravity of the moon pulling not only the oceans up towards the sky, but the water in our bodies as well. Shifting our internal oceans.
"When you see the tide roll in or out, what you’re really seeing is a cycle of small changes to the distribution of our planet’s oceans. As the Moon’s gravity tugs at Earth, it shifts Earth’s mass, distorting its shape ever so slightly into that of a football ― elongated at the equator and shortened at the poles." -NASA
Our bodies are also a mass on earth.
The tires will settle again.
Life will settle again.
Cycles will continue to unfold their magic, and lessons.
I will sleep again.
If you're feeling anxiety, restlessness, insomnia right now.. you're not alone.
There's light at the end of the tunnel.
