After 17 years of experience as a yoga therapist, Heather Mason, founder and CEO of The Minded Institute shares her greatest insight into being a yoga therapist.

Many of The Minded Institute students have the intention to learn to become yoga therapists to help others. As adults, continuing education in the yoga profession often means this. However, as well as supporting others on their journey to better health, being a yoga therapist also allows a deeper self reflection on how certain emotions and feelings arise on a certain day, and what meditation or movement practice can help in that moment.

The more Heather delves into yoga therapy and then shares her insights with others the more continues to learn about how to work with herself. As she expresses, “Being a yoga therapist is part of my spiritual journey and increases my capacity for emotional regulation. I am always learning new ways to work with my own mind and body while in the process of trying to understand how to work with others”.
