Hi! Daniel my name is Darius 39 years a coin collector and I have a 1964 JFK Silver Half Dollar.
We both know that this particular coin is a
Transitional coin.
This coin is ascented hair, have a mint mark in the Obverse of the coin in the lower right side of nine in 1964 which is strange because normally the mint mark of the 1964 JKF is in the Reverse of the coin.
Gilroy Roberts design the Obverse of the coin and Frank Gasfarow design the Reverse of the coin
Because of that I analyze my coin
1964 D P JFK Silver Half Dollar was a Prototype or Experimental coin.

I've never understood that such errors are something to pay for!
When I was into numismatics I was mainly interested in old European taler/daler and errors were usually far cheaper than perfect coins.
For me, ppl can enjoy what they want?!
I can't enjoy the look of such errors on modern coins, to a degree of shelling out more than $100 . The only thing I have bought of rare errors
are "mules" and coins that are struck on other coins.
