I LOVE the wedge tail eagles that John Mercanti designed. It’s the one foreign coin that I buy every year. I love that the design changes each year and the style he uses to build every design. Truly a work of art !!

I just came across my first 3 presidential dollar coin proofs coin roll hunting. I've never seen a proof coin with the frosted appearance before but under a microscope its incredible to see the detail it takes to give the frosted proof appearance on a coin.
I saw a nice PR70 Silver Eagle at a local antiques store and its a stunning coin in person.

The tail is all wrong for an eagle.For myself, my favorites are early American coins, before 1800.Some people think they are ugly, but I like that primitive look.Matter of taste I guess.Thankyou Daniel.

I agree, the type 2 American Eagle looks lopsided to me. I do not like the new American Eagle at all, we are stuck with the lopsided Eagle for 23 more years at least.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the lettering or that big circle going around. The eagle is ridiculously good. They just framed it without much taste. Why does it need to say 5 oz .999 silver? It looks like a bullion round with all that going on. Should have been just the date and name of the bird with more stylized lettering.
This happens all the time with modern coins. They'll get a really amazing design and ruin it with shoddy framing.
I bet ya if the US mint made that coin, but with a bald eagle, obviously, it would look a lot better due to the way they'd style it.
