I don’t trust a roofer that isn’t drunk and stoned at 8:30am

Hiring 85 of the best Mexican roofers is still cheaper than a roofing robot.

Where do you insert the pain killers and Bush Light.

1. Still needs an operator to load the shingles to the robot and inspect the work
2. Oddball roofs will be the bane of this robot - and will still require manual labor to shingle spaces where the robot cannot reach
3. Roofing operators will become a skilled tech job to identify the portions of the roof that can be automated and the parts that cannot be automated. Additionally, any flashing, gutters, vents/vent caps will still need to be managed manually

I really doubt builders that want to keep costs low are gonna go for a fucking roofing robot.

“Uses AI and Machine Learning (ML) to position it”

Shows image of it leaving a gap between shingles. Lol. Brilliant.

This is one of the most pointless robots I have ever seen.

Worst part of roofing is definitely tear off. Probably harder to automate.

For those who have seen at what speed experienced roofers work, I doubt that this is a viable option for most companies. Especially when you consider CAPEX, setup time, adjustment time for different scenarios (vents, dormers, slopes, etc.) combined with potential failures/downtime......

Haha having worked with several roofers throughout my years, definitely a good idea. Had one roofing contractor bring out this older guy to shingle the roof to my well-house and said he had been doing it for 30 years, thing blew off in a small wind storm in one piece, I went up and did it myself in an hour and had withstood many big storms no problem. Had another roofer show up completely hammered and wound up postponing for weeks because of the heat, wound up just doing that roof myself too. Maybe it’s just the roofers around here, but you just get no guarantee of work anymore, and it’s so important to have a well-installed roof. As a homeowner who has had to do roofing myself repeatedly, just sell me one of these things for a few thousand dollars, I will use it to reroof all my buildings at once. Will save me some hot hours on the roof, my main concern is how much does this thing weigh, it’s hard enough getting the OSB up there on a new building, if this thing is heavy I just won’t bother. Gonna hurt myself getting it up there, before the roofing even starts.

You can see the nail that was put in WAY to low. Is the robot going to fix that issue?

Hahaha, these engineers have never seen what 12 “workers” can do in a day 😂😂. The speed in which they can strip and reshingle a roof mind blowing. I don’t think a robot will take their jobs anytime soo

Careful people...we need to increase our productivity as the world has changed A LOT...if you got kids still in education I suggest pushing them into an engineering position...robots are replacing all low paid unskilled and now the skilled labourers..someone will need to either operate or repair the robotic workers of the future...I myself have already been in this position and I can tell you its the way to go

How do you get that machine up to the roof? Rails? Dolley? Crane? How much does it cost to operate a crane for a day?
