Why do people use laundry detergent to clean everything? Laundry pods in the o cedar bucket, gain laundry sauce in the carpet shampooer. They make specific products to be used in these machines for a reason..

I am glad you rinsed. I would reccomend you use an actual carpet cleaner for vacs in future.
You can get scents in the form of room sprays etc if you miss the purfume.
Also re the bath jets, you know there are professional cleaning solutions for hor tubs and jacuzzis - maybe worth a shot?

Pro tip- use half water and half vinegar when you do the rinse! It'll really help with odor and breaking up and getting rid of any lingering soap residue

Pro tip...don't get white carpet

I have the same vacuum and if you don’t put that little tiny top cap piece that’s super annoying back. If you try to suck the water back up, it won’t pull any. Try again with it closed and watch how much more you get and how much cleaner your floors get. Trust me I found out the hard way lol😂

I have this carpet machine. I wouldn't ever have thought to use laundry soap. I buy a Bissell carpet solution to do carpet with. Laundry soap will leave alot of soap in carpet i would think.

normally i use my Hoover smart wash pet with the solution and then go over it again workout the solution tank, just hot water and that leaves it clean and still smelling good!

Pro tip— mix cleanser and water in a spray bottle first and spray the solution on the carpet. Let it sit a few minutes. Using water only in the carpet cleaning machine and go back over the rug. This should work well and you don’t have to do double the work.
