probably more likely that he blocked his true intentions and love for Lily by focusing on his hatred of James. Yeah, his father beating him would show how he initially hated Muggles, but Snape pretending like he's hunting Harry as revenge for what Harry's father did to him is a more selfish and capricious motivation, one that Voldemort would more easily understand/sympathize with and therefore believe.

This is all true, there is another reason that is more easy to understand in the books. The reason Dumbledore trusted Snape was actually on the good side, was love. In the book Voldemortā€™s inability to give credit to or understand love was his downfall. Dumbledore knew that Snape truly loved Lily, and he knew that would be enough to drive Snapeā€™s true allegiance. Voldemort who at every turn misunderstood love and underestimated the power of it. Voldemort likely gave little to no consideration to the fact that Snape had, and could still love Lily.

Severus Snape was the true hero in the fight against Voldemort. Harry didn't have a choice, Snape did.

The fact that after requesting to leave lily alive from Snape, Voldemort has given a chance to lily to live and handover the child. This incident shows that Voldemort trusts Snape more than other death eaters.

And yet Bellatrix didn't trust Snape. I think Voldemort's trust had more to do with plot.
