The Council just affirmed what the church already believed.

The myth that Constantine created the Trinity and chose the books of the Bible come from a misreading of Eusebius of Cesarea's biography of Constantine, where he recounts how after the the Council, Constantine paid for the compilation of 70 codex's of the entire Old and New Testaments.

The purpose of the council was to define what Christianity is and cut down on all the heresy that was rampant at the time. Once again it people don't want to take time to understand the context of a historical event

The Ante Nicene Fathers also believed in man's freedom to choose God.

Even the ancient Isealites believed in a godhead. They believed in a binitarian godhead. A visible YHWH and an invisible YHWH. This was believed until the 2nd century a.d. and the advent of Jesus.

If you sit back and contemplate the reality of Christianity as a religion (and I'm not bashing any denomination) you have the council of Jerusalem where Christianity ceased being a reform movement within Judaism and became a separate religion then Nicea where this religion truly became an organized institutional entity and the state religion of the empire. Then when Rome fell the leadership of the church (basically the last remaining vestige of government) grew in scope of power into what we today still know as The papacy. Imagine for a moment if any one of those things had not happened. It is fairly reasonable to believe that the Reformation might not have ever occurred and with that we may not have had the westphalian nation- state system. but Christianity as we understand it today would definitely not exist as it currently does of those events from 1,600ish years ago had happened differently.

Our relationship is with the Father and his son. 1John. The angel told Joseph that Mary's baby was of the Holy Ghost. Making him the Father. Jesus doesn't have 2 Fathers, because God isn't gay. There's only the Father and the son. The Father is the Holy Ghost. So there's only 2. Every Bible verse supporting a trinity, was added in the 4th and 16th century. (These 3 are one, was added.)

Jesus even points to the Trinity.. people who can't see it for themselves are the blind the Word talks about

I admire folks who study these things , but simply saying the opossing view is "baloney" falls short of Christian charity. IMHO

Read the dialogue of Catherine of Seina. Those it behooves to speak up fall silent. Itā€™s the Ancient Paths in Jeremiah 6-16. Jesus prophet of prophets proclaims it. John 5-36. 1 John 5-6. You know His voice! God explains the trinity in the chapter on mystical holy body church.

To understand the Trinity, you must first understand God the Father. According to the Bible, God the Father is formless and is not the old man often depicted in art. John 4:24 clearly states, ā€œGod is spirit,ā€ meaning He has no physical form (John 1:18; 1 Timothy 1:17). In the Old Testament, God revealed Himself through various appearancesā€”such as in human form to Abraham, Joshua, Jacob, and Moses in the burning bush. These were temporary manifestations, not His true divine form. The visions of God on His throne, seen by Ezekiel and John, are symbolic. They use vivid imagery to convey Godā€™s majesty and authority but do not depict His true, formless nature. These visions are understood as a theophany, a visible manifestation of God to a human. As John 1:18 reaffirms Godā€™s formlessness. And as stated in Exodus 33:20, God says no one can see Him and live. To better understand the Trinity, consider a human being composed of body, soul, and spirit, yet still one person or being. Similarly, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are distinct components but united as one God. Each being of the Trinity has a unique role, yet they are one in essence. Just as the human body is the physical manifestation of a person, Jesus Christ, the Son, is the incarnation of God, taking on a physical form. The soul, which encompasses intellect, will, and emotions, is analogous to God the Father, who is the source of will and purpose. The spirit, connecting a person to the divine, is like the Holy Spirit, representing God's immediate and active presence within believers. For instance, John 1:1-14 states, ā€œIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was Godā€¦ The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.ā€ This illustrates that while Godā€™s divinity is formless, His manifestations, such as the incarnation of Jesus, take on a physical form. Even Jesusā€™s claim to have seen Abraham and His interaction with Moses and Elijah during the Transfiguration further confirm His transcendent nature.

Cut to chase ~ The trinity aka co-equal & co-eternal facets of One GOD, three being One, is Not a Bible teaching, regardless of Constantine & Nicea ! Our Precious Lord Jesus Christ clearly stated that His Father, Namely JEHOVAH ALMIGHTY; is the Only True God !!! .. John 17:3 Exodus 6: 2 &3 KJV

Christianā€™s werenā€™t even the first group of people to think there was a plurality of persons who are Yahweh. The Old Testament teaches quite clearly that there are at least two persons who are Yahweh, and there were many Jews in the intertestamental period who believed in what we now call the ā€œtwo powers in heaven doctrineā€. So this idea that Constantine came up with the Trinity and the plurality of person who are God is ridiculous. If youā€™re interested, Dr. Michael heiser has a lot of great material on YouTube discussing the two powers in heaven doctrine.
